It is sad that Sean Crawford (Letters, 16 April), commenting on my article ('More art than science?', pages 28-29, 26 March) on evidence-based management, should illustrate what I was saying about the difficulties of getting evidence-based management into practice. My article was about the desirability of practising evidence-based management and the obstacles to doing so. How can Mr Crawford then say that I was arguing that looking for evidence is not relevant to managers? Look at the article, even just the first Key Point, for evidence to the contrary.
