London Ambulance Service trust is facing an industrial tribunal next April over the sacking of a senior manager. Former director of ambulance services David Carrington led an investigation into the alleged refusal of two crew members to answer a 999 call. The two were dismissed but later successfully sued LAS for unfair dismissal. LAS sacked Mr Carrington for alleged misconduct, including 'lying' to an industrial tribunal.

The trust refused to comment but Mr Carrington's solicitor said: 'My client wants his job back and his name exonerated.'
