A magic moment it was indeed when Mo Mowlam addressed the Royal College of Nursing congress (politics, 18 March). But in your news focus report of the event, the suggestion that health secretary Frank Dobson 'had better things to do' than address congress is unfair.
For the record, the RCN's decision to invite the Northern Ireland secretary, rather than her Cabinet colleague, was prompted by a UK-wide organisation's desire to highlight the significance of this year of devolution.
As the dates fell, Dr Mowlam's address also proved a highly appropriate way in which to mark international women's day.
