A 10-year plan with targets to improve life in Wales has been launched by first secretary Alun Michael. The plan is built around five key areas: opportunities for learning, a stronger economy, better health and well-being, quality of life, and better, simpler government. It sets more than 100 targets for the end of the current Welsh Assembly, including better management of hospital waiting times within 12 months and fairer funding mechanisms for local government and the NHS.
