A government taskforce called this week for standard models for procuring hospital private finance intiative projects.
Head of the Treasury taskforce Adrian Montague said the need to develop 'templates' for projects was one of the key lessons that had been learned from the first round of the government's prioritisation programme carried out last year, which led to 14 projects in England being selected to proceed.
The Treasury announced on Monday that its taskforce was actively involved in all these programmes to try to ensure their commercial viability.
Mr Montague said it would be involved in future projects and would help develop templates for them along the lines of procurement models already used for prison and road projects.
The taskforce is also working on projects involving defence, schools and roads and other public departments.
