'Stories in the making' was a great title for the piece on joint working by Sally Bigwood and John Lucy (2 August).
It draws attention to the effort involved in creating jointness, and the tales that can be told of how joint working worked (or didn't). In developing partnership work across health and social care, service providers and commissioners from all sectors can find ways to work together when they start with an aim to deliver improved services to users.
As the article points out, partnership and joint working are not the goal for their own sake but can be a creative means to challenge and change ways in which services are provided.
Though joint working is nothing new, the current focus on partnerships of all kinds makes it timely to collect together myths (as in the article), legends, fables and fairy tales: the story so far... Karen Greenwood Organisational development consultant London N6
