We were very pleased to read Kath Craig and Terry McLaughlin's article, 'Making the grade' (pages 30-31, 21 June).
It confirms exactly what we have been telling employers for years - if you value all the members of your team, there are far fewer problems with recruitment and, equally, if not more importantly, retention.
This is made clear in one of the key points: turnover among medical secretaries in the surgical directorate is nil.
So well done to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
Let's hope that other employers will follow their outstanding example.
