Sheffield health authority has taken to the streets in search of non-executive directors for the city's new primary care trusts.
Managers and existing primary care group non-executives set up a stand in one of Sheffield's main shopping streets to tell passersby about PCTs. A widespread poster and leaflet campaign is now running on buses and at tram stops.
Annette Quairney, HA director of primary care development, said: 'The challenge we have faced, like many HAs, was how to get this message across to the man and woman in the street.
'We were delighted with how much interest people had in what we had to say. '
Sheffield HA needs to find 20 non-executive directors and four chairs for the new PCTs, which start work in April next year.
