While being angered at the exclusion of the professions allied to medicine from primary care group boards, I was appalled that Angie Emmott of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy made referrals of 'physio-terrorists' at the recent TUC conference (News Focus, page 12, 24 September).

Having qualified in 1963, I well remember proscriptive referrals and such terms as used by Ms Emmott being attributed to my profession.

Might we expect the term 'slap and tickle girls' to re-emerge?
