You seem to reveal that pregnancy is to be extended beyond childbirth ('£100m package to woo midwives and electorate', page 4, 3 May).

Your report states that public health minister Yvette Cooper has announced plans to improve screening during pregnancy.

This would test 'newborn' babies for hearing problems and cystic fibrosis.

When will the tests take place?

I am sure the pregnant Ms Cooper would very much like to know.
