Private health insurer BUPA has been invited to sponsor a review of the future of the NHS, looking at its likely development by 2020, as part of the NHS's 50th anniversary celebrations in July. NHS Confederation deputy chief executive Jean Trainor said, if it took part, the company would have to 'sign up to, and abide by, specific rules' and would have no editorial control over the review's findings. Other tributes outlined this week include a set of commemorative stamps, an NHS 50p piece, and up to 50 fellowships to allow overseas health workers to study the health service in the UK.
