Leading companies in the private healthcare industry improved their profit growth by 46 per cent in the year ending 2000-01, according to a report from the Prospect Shop.Companies highlighted by the report as showing some of the highest pre-tax profit growth rates include Metier Healthcare, Allen Water Developments and Four Seasons Healthcare (Scotland), with results of 1,126 per cent, 503 per cent and 241 per cent respectively.Among the 10 largest companies examined in 2000-01, BMI Healthcare showed pre-tax profit margins of 22 per cent; for Partnerships in Care the figure was15.9 per cent.The overall industry average of 2000-01 was 6 per cent.
