I note (appointments, 9 August) that Royal United Hospital Bath trust is committed to 'eliminating discrimination from employment practices'.

I assume it means unfair or unlawful discrimination.

Otherwise, it will cease to be able to discriminate between those job applicants who are appropriately qualified and those who are not.

The misconception that the word 'discrimination' is necessarily pejorative is a good example of the detrimental impact of political correctness on semantic accuracy.
