Health visitors, dietitians and physiotherapists have united in a call to reject primary care trusts for giving too much power to GPs. Nine organisations representing community health professsionals say their members are 'angered and frustrated' at being excluded from membership of the executive of first-level PCTs. They have agreed to recommend that their members 'object to the establishment of any PCT at level 3' until the government ensures professions allied to medicine and others 'have the chance to play a meaningful role in the running of PCTs'.
