The Mental Health Foundation has produced a report calling for a three-year investigation of how people with mental health problems manage their own health.Strategies for Living calls on the government to set up an expert patients taskforce to establish a nation-wide programme of self-management. Director Ruth Leserge said the report 'poses a real challenge to the assumptions made every day by medical professionals' .The report also stressed the importance of support, friendships and relationships with mental health workers as a key factor in improving mental health.
