Managers who have succeeded in bringing junior hospital doctors'hours within government targets are to be brought in to help trusts that have failed to do so.Pre-registration doctors should be working no more than 56 hours a week by August this year and the same limit will apply to all junior doctors by August 2003.'It is essential that all NHS employers reduce the hours junior doctors work and that they get enough rest, 'said health minister John Hutton.'This is a patientsafety issue.'
