The views of thousands of NHS employees have been published in the Healthcare Commission's fifth annual staff survey.

The survey reveals that, while staff are generally satisfied in their jobs, communication with senior management is often seen as poor.

The number of staff saying their trust does enough to promote the importance of hand-washing has gone up to 82 per cent, from 70 per cent in 2005. But the results suggest that the availability of hand-washing equipment needs to be improved.
