Published: 10/01/2001, Volume 112, No. 5787 Page 22 23When I was at Richmond House in December, I noticed in the foyer a nice imitation Christmas tree with a big gold star on top. I had earlier noticed in the grounds of Westminster Palace an enormous Christmas tree with one star.

Should the Department of Health and our political masters not have been setting a better example by having 'threestar' Christmas trees? Perhaps 'no-star' trusts should have angels on top of their Christmas trees.
