Two in five people over 65 who live in care homes suffer from depression, a report from Age Concern has found.

The condition also affects one in five over 65 year olds living in the community, but many go undiagnosed.

Mental Health Foundation head of policy Simon Lawton-Smith said: "It is unacceptable that older people living in the UK are being denied such vital help, and that opportunities to prevent them becoming depressed are being ignored."
