Your short item on the test case being brought by the Royal College of Nursing against the UK Central Council for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting (short cuts, page 7, 7 December) contained an error. It is not true that the UKCC supports the RCN in bringing this case. We have been as helpful as possible and provided large amounts of information. We accept that the clarity provided by the courts will be helpful. But that is not support. The UKCC is, in fact, confident that its professional conduct procedures are in line with the Human Rights Act.
