The number of written complaints about hospital and community health services in England rose by over 10 per cent to nearly 100,000 last year, while the number of cases resolved locally within the performance target of four weeks dropped to 56 per cent from 60 per cent the previous year.The number of independent reviews requested by complainants increased, and of those heard by an independent review panel, fewer were concluded within the performance target of six months.There was also a significant increase in written complaints about general medical and dental services, which were up by almost 12 per cent to 44,442.
