Barts Health Trust - Royal London Hospital: Barts Emergency Access Co-ordination Hub (BEACH)

Barts Health NHS Trust launched the Barts Emergency Access Care Hub (BEACH) in September 2020, which covers patients across the Barts Health footprint. The BEACH provides a single point of access for all eligible patients who have been given an ED disposition by a NHS 111 clinician or an on-scene ambulance crew. The service has reviewed over 3,000 patients and has enabled 50 per cent to be referred to alternative services for the right care, first time. Furthermore, BEACH patients who remain with an ED disposition are assessed and treated faster upon arrival to the emergency department than non-BEACH patients.
