Jeremy Hunt is a British politician who served as health and social care secretary from 2012 to 2018, making him the longest-serving health secretary in UK history. He was appointed by David Cameron and later reappointed by Theresa May, overseeing significant reforms in the NHS, including controversial changes to junior doctors' contracts and initiatives aimed at improving patient safety. Following his tenure in health, he became secretary of state for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs and later served as chancellor of the Exchequer from 2022 to 2024. Hunt has been the Conservative MP for South West Surrey since 2005 and has also engaged in charitable work, including founding a charity for AIDS orphans in Africa.
