FINANCE: Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust is reporting a surplus of just over £1m for 2012-13 and is meeting the key Monitor financial requirements, the board heard.

But it spent much more than the previous year on patient placements in the private sector.

For 2013-14 it is planning to make a surplus of £1.7m. However, it was beyond its target for April with higher than planned agency expenditure in some areas.
