FINANCE: Birmingham Cross City clinical commissioning group is forecasting delivering on only 51 per cent of its efficiency target.

The CCG has a quality, innovation, productivity and prevention target of £16.7m for 2013-14. It expects to deliver £8.5m.

Much of the expected shortfall is in planned care, which is only expected to deliver a quarter of its £3.7m target.

July board papers said: “This is based on either a lack of detail behind the schemes or limited information at this stage against which to evaluate progress.”

Urgent care was expected to deliver 75 per cent of target.
