ACUTE CARE: The new Queen Elizabeth II hospital in Welwyn Garden City is on schedule to start delivering services in May.

The hospital will have facilities including an urgent care centre open round the clock, diagnostics services, antenatal care, day care and therapy services.

Hari Pathmanathan, chair of East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, which has planned the new hospital, said: “The building itself will be really impressive, but more importantly the services it provides will improve the quality of patient care for many thousands of people every year.”
