FINANCE: NHS Nottinghamshire County has reported a £5m surplus for 2010-11 but only after using all its £10.2m reserves.
The PCT also had to deliver £16.6m of mitigating actions such as review of accounting treatments, implementing stretch targets on QIPP programmes and additional actions on provider services.
The requirement to utilise all reserves, and to identify mitigating actions, arose due to increased patient activity across all areas, occurring throughout
the year and slippage in delivery of QIPP savings for planned and urgent care.
Service Level Agreements overspent by £23.7 million for the period.
