Nottingham University Hospitals Trust: Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (DNACPR) QI Project

The DNACPR project launched in January 2020 with the aim of enhancing patient safety and experience in relation to DNACPR to sustain changes required to meet Care Quality Commission recommendations. This project has been transformational in our adoption of staff and patient experience based co-design and quality improvement methodologies to leverage organisational culture changes. Collaborative involvement has ensured local ownership and changed the language and approach we have taken with patients and families. This qualitative approach has resulted in bespoke data driven, systematic and sustained improved performance in all DNACPR standards.
