FINANCE: Board papers reveal that the Royal Wolverhampton hospitals trust is likely to overspend by £2.6m this year.
They say that after funding a recurrent shortfall in the 11-12 baseline for trauma and orthopaedic there is still expected to be an overspend in this area as the trust tries to bring its waiting lists down.
Additional contributing factors to the forecast overspend are:
- a significant £476,000 over performance on step down beds;
- a £602,000 forecast over performance on non-elective non emergencies; and
- a £876,000 forecast over performance on follow up outpatient attendances and outpatient procedures.
