PERFORMANCE: The number of MRSA cases at Salford Royal Foundation Trust is “over trajectory” on meeting its target limit for 2011-12, NHS Salford board papers state.
Salford Royal had recorded four cases of MRSA by July 2011, against a target of just five for the full year, the primary care trust’s performance report shows.
“The SRFT part of the [PCT’s] C difficile target is achieved in June 2011, however, the number of MRSA cases from SRFT is over trajectory,” the report states.
“The number of C difficile cases is continuing to fall. Despite the period of increased incidence at the beginning of 2010, the incidence of infection has reduced by 35per cent on the previous year to date,” the report said.
“A meeting date has been agreed to plan a collaborative approach in reducing the incidence of MRSA bacteraemias,” it adds.
