SERVICE DESIGN- Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust has opened a new Bolton-based dialysis unit for renal patients.
The trust has spent £120,000 to upgrade the satellite dialysis unit, which is located on Royal Bolton Hospital’s site.
In addition to welcoming back around 80 patients, Salford Royal will also now be providing renal outpatient appointments from the unit.
The Bolton Renal Unit is one of three satellite centres run by Salford Royal. Patients also dialyse at units in Wigan and Rochdale, in addition to the main department on Salford Royal’s site. Building work to create a new satellite unit at Oldham will start during 2013.
