I had to write after reading the comments regarding the Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health (news, page 10, 2 December 2004).

I became a forum support manager in July 2004 and I have always found CPPIH to be an excellent support organisation. When I have asked for assistance It is been immediate, when I've needed information It is been available. The forums are relatively new, as is CPPIH, but I firmly believe they are both perfectly able to achieve their objectives. It is a great pity that CPPIH is being abolished just when forums are gaining respect and momentum. It is always easy to criticise and compare. To nurture, trust and encourage is far more rewarding.
