  • Oh please God, offer me redundancy! Get me out of here, I'm a Senior Manager! - no more bullying by insecure, incompetent PCT CEOs, no more insidious manipulation by GP Medical Directors of people's working lives thru threats about career progression - REDUNDANCY ROCKS! BRING IT ON!

  • It all depends on the package. I have asked my union rep who says I would be entitled to 1 weeks pay per full year of service. I have also asked my Payroll Dept who have said that I would be entitled to 1 months pay per full year of service. I don't know who to believe, and I don't want to probe too much further either. I'd be grateful for any advice.

    Unsuitable or offensive?

  • It would be great, but I dont expect it to happen - it only tends to get offered to the lazy, incompetent dead-wood, who then ride off into the sunset, cheque in hand, whilst the hard working, conscientious of us struggle on to clear up their mistakes.

    Unsuitable or offensive?

  • To the second anon - it is now 1 month per year of service up to a maximum of 24 months. There are some variants if you are close to retirement age so check that with your payroll dept.

    Unsuitable or offensive?

  • Thanks Andy - I'm 38, no where near retirement!

    Unsuitable or offensive?

  • I would be the first volunteer! I would be absolutely delighted to be made redundant. My paperwork has increased massively and our management change their minds about twice a day about how we should work whilst proving to the "commissioners" how much money they can make out of us. Bring it on, I would be happy with fifteen thousand quid!
