On Friday we will reveal our list of the 100 best NHS organisations to work for in England, including acute trusts, community trusts, clinical commissioning groups and mental health trusts. A special supplement will also be published with the 5 September issue of HSJ.

We will also be exploring what workplaces need to do to ensure they have motivated, high performing staff capable of providing the best care for patients.

Noeleen Doherty, principal research fellow at Cranfield University School of Management, looks at the impact of a healthy workplace culture on staff wellbeing – and the knock-on effects that has on their ability to do their jobs well.

Also, Steve Peak and Simon Dodds discuss what is really needed to get people motivated - an essential quality to bring about organisational change.

Sharon Crabtree, associate director at Hay Group, explores what causes teams to underperform and what managers can do to get them back on track.

On Friday, Ruth Warden explains how staff can convince board directors of their health and wellbeing plans by answering the right questions, speaking “board language” and preparing the business case.

Join the debate and tell us about the best healthcare organisations you have worked in on hsj.co.uk and on Twitter using the hashtag #HSJbestplaces.
