HSJ was last night named business magazine of the year at the PPA Awards, the Oscars of the publishing world.
The judges of the prestigious industry awards said HSJ had “excelled itself over the last 12 months” and praised its “strong campaigning”.
The Professional Publishers Association judges added: “It was noted that HSJ has performed particularly well against online and social media metrics, and also benefits from being in an industry that allows for such an element.”
HSJ editor Alastair McLellan collected the award at a ceremony at Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Mayfair.
Among the other titles on the shortlist for the award were BMJ, Estates Gazette, Marketing and People Management.
Meanwhile, HSJ reporter Shaun Lintern was on Wednesday named professional media staff journalist of the year at the Medical Journalists’ Association summer awards.
