University Hospital of Wales and Llandough Hospital trust has made four key appointments: Susan Hobbs has become chief nurse, Paul Davies is the new finance director, Judith Hardisty is human resources director and Bob Burrows has become corporate administration director. All previously held senior posts with one of the trust's two predecessor organisations, University Hospital of Wales trust.

Leeds health authority has a new chief executive, Mike Ramsden, previously its director of corporate affairs.

Roger Bolas has been appointed chief executive of Easington primary care group. He was previously medical director of Mancunian Community Health trust.

Dr Alastair McDonald has become chair of North West London Hospitals trust. He retired from medical practice in 1997, having been a senior lecturer in cardiology at London Hospital Medical College and consultant at Royal Hospitals trust. He has also served as a non-executive director of Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham HA.

The chair of the new Community Health, South London trust is Suhail Aziz, former chair of Lambeth Healthcare trust.

The new South West London Community trust has a chair, Dr Elizabeth Nelson, former chair of Richmond, Twickenham and Roehampton Healthcare trust.

Anthony Leon has been re-appointed chair of Mancunian Community Health trust, a post he has held since 1995.

Broadmoor hospital authority has two new non-executive directors: John Slater, until recently a non-executive director of East Berkshire Community trust, and Alison Thorne, a member of North West Surrey community health council.
