Perhaps the reason why many management training scheme graduates did not go into primary care in the past was because the opportunities were not available ('Training survey finds primary care snubbed', news, 9 September).

A significant number of this year's MTS graduates (including myself) have chosen to work in primary care groups because for the first time primary care now offers exciting NHS career opportunities outside the mainstream acute sector.
