A public service forum to combat fraud has been launched by the Institute of Public Finance, the commercial arm of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy. The Better Governance and Counter-Fraud Forum aims to bring together chief executives from local government, the health service, housing and police services to discuss corporate governance and anti-fraud measures. The launch was attended by health minister John Denham and Jim Gee, NHS Executive director of counter-fraud services, who said: 'Eternal vigilance about probity is essential to the maintenance of public faith in democratic institutions.'
