WINNER: HUC: Virtual Waiting Room

The Urgent and Emergency Care Collaborative brought together local organisations to deliver new innovative integrated urgent care service models across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Relationships between the providers have developed and HUC has taken this opportunity to drive change and improve patient care.

As part of its 111 First project supporting direct booking into emergency departments, HUC and the EDs of Cambridge University Hospital and North West Anglia Foundation Trust, working with colleagues from Cambridge and Peterborough CCG, determined to pilot an alternative pathway for patients directed to ED following a 111 Clinical Advisory Service assessment.
