PERFORMANCE: The acute organisation said it faced a “significant challenge” in meeting the four-hour target but that a 97 per cent target agreed with commissioners had been hit.

The trust also opened an urgent care centre on its Central Middlesex site at the end of March which saw a 57 per cent reduction in patients presenting to the hospital over two weeks.

The facility is run by Care UK.

A trust performance report said: “The service now appears to becoming more established with a good flow of patients between the two units. The Trust continues to have daily regular contact with the Care UK operational teams to facilitate a seamless patient pathway between the Trust and Care UK units.”
