North Central London Integrated Care Board and Transformation Partners in Health and Care: Connecting Social Care and Health in North Central London with Acoustic Monitoring and Digital Innovation

North Central London is working to ensure that its adult social care services have better and consistent access to technology that supports connection with their NHS colleagues (and bolsters preparedness) should another pandemic occur. This includes the rollout of remote and acoustic monitoring for falls prevention. Care home residents are among the most vulnerable groups in society, with complex health and social care needs, including frailty, dementia and multiple comorbidities, contributing to an elevated fall risk. Acoustic monitoring alerts professionals to patients at risk of falls, reducing the need for non-essential hourly checks and disruptions to residents’ sleep.
