In the second of a series of videos for the Change Challenge, NHS staff discuss how a transformation programme transformed their surgery department

One of the themes that emerged very strongly from HSJ, Nursing Times and NHS Improving Quality Challenge Top-Down Change campaign was the need for organisations to nurture staff and support collaborative working.

Nottingham University Hospitals embarked on a large scale transformation programme to consistently search for improvements in quality, safety and value for money.

Within its surgery departments this meant listening to staff, focusing on the right type of training for staff and introducing patient safety champions across its teams.

In this video, staff discuss some of the outcomes achieved as well as how they managed to get universal buy-in among teams.
