The winners of this year’s HSJ Value in Healthcare Awards have been announced tonight at an event in London.

The winners (listed below) and finalists showcase outstanding efficiency and improvement in the NHS.

The awards had a record breaking year for entries - from 532 entries, 140 organisations were shortlisted. Twenty-one organisations have been judged to be leading the way in this increasingly important area and crowned the winners.

Now in its fifth year, these awards recognise excellent use of resources and seek out examples of demonstrable improvement in outcomes, both within back office functions and clinical initiatives.

Not only does UK healthcare face unprecedented financial pressures, but there has never been a greater focus on care quality, outcomes and patient experience.

The awards were judged by a panel made up of senior and influential figures from the health sector including:

  • Charles Alessi, chair of the National Association of Primary Care
  • Professor Jonathan Kay, clinical informatics director of NHS England
  • Michael MacDonnell, head of strategy for NHS England
  • Robert Knott, national director NHS procurement at the Department of Health
