The head of pathology consolidation at NHS Improvement, who is leading on work to create 29 networks across England, spoke at a recent HSJ webinar.

David Wells discussed progress so far on consolidation and efficiency improvements, following on from Lord Carter’s 2016 review of pathology services.

He was joined by Ian Fry, director at Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services – one of the largest and longest established NHS pathology networks – and by Simon Hurst, chief commercial officer at CliniSys. The debate was chaired by HSJ correspondent Nick Carding.
