Health Equity Partnership: A symbiotic approach to tackling health inequalities

Through collaboration between the NHS and community-based organisations, this year-long project was co-designed to tackle health inequalities in North Lewisham through three key approaches.

Health equity and wellbeing champions were recruited and trained to identify health needs within communities at risk of experiencing health inequalities.

Nine accessible community health hubs were delivered as one-stop-shop outreach events, providing NHS health checks and specialist screenings to 678 people. These hubs operated through partnerships between health services and voluntary sector organisations, bringing essential healthcare directly to local communities.

HIV Stigma Training Co-designed targeted education and animated resources were developed and delivered to reduce HIV-related stigma in primary care settings.
