HSJ Partnership Awards 2018: Best Procurement Support or Service

de Poel health+care worked with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Foundation Trust to ensure it employed agency staff at the right price, had overview of how many were needed and used, and relevant employment checks were in place. de Poel helped establish a panel of 56 agencies – all within rate caps – and set up a centralised booking system using its e-tips software.

Since going live over a year ago, it has helped deliver nearly 32,000 hours of quality care with all staff rates within the rate cap, and off framework costs dramatically reduced. CWP now has a single set of rates and terms and conditions with all the recruitment agencies on the panel.

The judges felt that there was a strong partnership between de Poel and the trust it was working in collaboration with, and that both organisations were clearly on the “journey” together allowing the trust to focus on patient care.
