WINNER: Portsmouth Hospitals University Trust: Portsmouth Hospitals Maternity Intelligent Automation Transformation Programme

Following the initiation of NHS England’s national Maternity Transformation Programme and to level up Portsmouth Hospital’s digital capabilities, the Maternity Intelligent Automation Transformation Programme took shape. The aim was to remove manual tasks to save ~18,000 hours of vital workforce time, streamline the maternity pathway, minimise potential risks to pregnancy from delayed information and ultimately, make the patient experience more accessible by reducing appointment wait times, through the introduction of real-time bookings and improve care outcomes.

Using innovative automation technologies as an enabler, organisers say they are proud of the benefits being realised for the workforce, patients and NHS partners.
