WINNER: Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board and Spirit Health: From Pilots to Pioneering Partnerships: Scaling up Virtual Wards to Transform Care Across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland ICS

How can virtual wards be scaled successfully from trust level to system wide, asked the project’s organisers. Built on years of partnership and virtual ward pilot programmes, Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care System and Spirit Health are now working to replicate previous successes to transform patient care across 16 clinical pathways. This pioneering project will support over 1 million people and aims to extend the scope, integration and use of a proven remote monitoring platform (Clinitouch) already established in LLR. Goals include improving patient outcomes, freeing up bed space and increasing LLR’s capacity – all whilst utilising digital health technology.
