WINNER: Integrating the NHS Organ Donor Register into the NHS App: Northgate Public Services, Kainos, NHS Blood and Transplant and NHS Digital

This initiative has allowed users of the NHS App to register their decision on organ donation, review it and update it in real time.

Historically, the public have been able to register their decision on organ donation through a variety of channels but it was not possible for them to easily review their decision or the information held. The NHS App offered an opportunity to do this – something which would be particularly important in light of the shift to a presumed consent system of organ donation which comes in in 2020.
