WINNER: Patchwork Health and St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals Trust: Establishing the North West Collaborative Bank - The Largest in the UK

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust wanted to create a solution that would empower staff to work flexibly, whilst simultaneously filling shifts that would otherwise be filled by agency workers. In collaboration with Patchwork Health, the North West Collaborative Bank was developed, a fully interoperable solution that would improve the trainee experience, reduce costs and promote flexible working. The Collaborative Bank has since saved over £433k pa on agency spend, retained £3.4m within the NHS, and filled more than 33,000 hours of shifts, ensuring fluctuating patient demand is met effectively, safely and sustainably.
